CCS Benefits

What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is an Australian Government payment that helps eligible families reduce the cost of approved child care. The amount of subsidy your family may receive is based on several factors, including your combined family income, recognised activity levels, and the type of approved child care your child attends.

The CCS is paid directly to your child care provider on your behalf, so you only pay the remaining gap fee after the subsidy has been applied.

Who Can Receive the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

To be eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families must:

  • Attend an approved child care service.

  • Meet the Australian residency requirements.

  • Ensure their child's immunisations are up to date or meet the approved immunisation requirements.

  • Meet the income requirements for CCS eligibility.

  • Participate in recognised activities, such as paid work, study, training, volunteering, or other approved activities, which help determine the number of subsidised hours you can receive.
